The Mental Edge Sports Programs have been created for athletes of all levels in all sports. Mental training topics include, but are not limited to the following:
- How to compete with a more relaxed-focus.
- How to mentally prepare for competition
- How to re-create feelings present in the "zone"
- How to utilize performance anxiety for peak performance
- How to develop powerful personal routines
Individual Consultations:
- Track athlete's progress on a weekly basis with written evaluations
- Includes imagery and relaxation training
- Positive self-talk, routines, and goal setting
- Identifying personal blocks and creating a new mental approach
- Requires active participation from client
One-on-one sessions provide a highly personalized experience for the athlete and range between 1-2 hours. These sessions are conducted in the office, on the athletic field, and on-site following a competition. Depending on the nature of the athlete's challenge(s), we recommend a minimum of 10 sessions. They will be required to keep notes on their performances each week, fulfill their weekly "action" agreements and goals, and will be held accountable by our staff consultant. For athletes outside of Northern California, phone and email consultations will be used. Each athlete will receive a Mental Edge Notebook consisting of the Mental Edge Assessment, weekly agreements, performance feedback forms, and personally tailored mental strategies for competition based on prior mental training sessions.
Group Workshops
- Effective for all sports: tennis, golf, baseball, basketball, equestrian
- Excellent for athletic clubs, teams, schools, and leagues
- Addresses performance anxiety and the "fear factor," providing practical tools for athletes to play with a more relaxed-focus
- Highly interactive group experience and fun
The workshops range from a one-time (2 hours) seminar to a four-week (1 ½ hours) course. All participants will receive a Mental Edge folder for ongoing self-monitoring and maintaining week-to-week accountability with the consultant.
